Thank You, Licorice

All of us at Cloud9 want to express our gratitude for Licorice and all he helped us achieve as a member of the organization. Since joining the organization in late 2017, Licorice helped Cloud9 reach impressive highs and remain a force on both the LCS stage and the world stage.

Upon joining Cloud9 from EUnited in 2017, Licorice immediately brought to the team a professionalism and commitment to improvement that was inspiring. It didn’t take long to see the fruits of his efforts appear in competition, as he went on to win the Rookie of the Split award in LCS Spring 2018, helping the team to an 11-7 record in the regular season. This performance was only a taste of things to come, however, as he helped the team come away with 2nd place in LCS Summer 2018, as well as making the 2nd All-Pro Team.

There was more work to be done in 2018, as the team qualified for the 2018 World Championship. Here, Licorice and the team stunned on a global stage, reaching the semifinals and coming away with a 3rd-4th-place finish. In 2019, Licorice again had a successful year, with a 3rd-4th-place finish in LCS Spring 2019 and a 2nd-place finish in LCS Summer 2019, along with another trip to Worlds and making his first 1st All-Pro Team. In 2020, he helped finally bring back the LCS title to Cloud9 with a dominant LCS Spring 2020 that saw the team end the regular season with a 17-1 record.

We’ve loved working with Licorice and we’ve accomplished some amazing things together including getting to semi-finals at worlds and winning an LCS trophy.  I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with Eric and wish him the best in the future.

I really want to thank Licorice for everything he has done for Cloud9. Eric has been a cornerstone to the team for years and I believe he has made a lasting positive impression on the whole organization while bringing home an LCS championship and competing at multiple Worlds.
