Cloud9 Reenters Competitive Halo With New Roster | Cloud9

Cloud9, Halo Article By John Nomis|05 October, 2020

Cloud9 is thrilled to announce today our return to the competitive Halo scene! Joining C9 Halo are players Braedon StelluR Boettcher, Zane Pznguin Hearon, Kevin Eco Smith, and Jonathan Renegade Willette, and they will be coached by Emanuel Hoaxer Lovejoy. Please join us in giving them a warm welcome to Cloud9!

With well over a decade of experience combined in competitive Halo circuits, and a camaraderie forged by competing with each other at various points in their careers, our newest faces are ready to make waves right away. StelluR and Eco are seasoned veterans who have shined on the brightest stages, coming away with a 3rd-place finish at the 2017 Halo World Championship, with Team Liquid, and bringing home the title and $500,000 grand prize at the 2018 Halo World Championship while playing for Splyce.

Pznguin, who was also a member of the successful 2017 Team Liquid roster, maintained a Top 4 ranking throughout the entire Halo 5 competitive circuit and also came away with 1st place at the Red Bull Rise Till Dawn 2019 Halo 3 tournament. Renegade boasts the same world championship as StelluR and Eco, that Splyce team proving themselves as the best in the world at the time, as well as being the only player to claim both a 2v2 championship and a 4v4 championship in Free-For-All. In addition to the various accolades the players have achieved together, all players also recently played together as members of Turning Point.

At the helm of it all is Hoaxer, whose knowledge of competitive Halo dates all the way back to 2011, where he placed 4th at the MLG Providence ‘11 BiC FLEX4 FFA Nationals. Since transitioning to coaching, Hoaxer has led teams to a 3rd-place finish at the HCS Finals 2018 and a 4th-place finish at the 2018 Halo World Championship.

With a bevy of experience at the highest levels of the game, all of us at Cloud9 are thrilled to see what the players have in store for the future as the combat evolves! For more updates on C9 Halo and all things Cloud9, make sure to follow us on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Discord.
