Cloud9 is ecstatic to announce the promotion of Kim Reignover Yeu-jin from the role of Head Coach for Cloud9 Academy to Head Coach of the Cloud9 LCS team! With a playing career that began in 2013 and a coaching career that began in 2019, Reignover’s expertise of the game is second to none and he has earned his return to the LCS stage.

Reignover’s extensive career has spanned across three regions and began in 2013 with the Incredible Miracle organization in Korea. In 2015, Reignover moved to the EU region and joined FNATIC, where his career truly began to blossom. In EU LCS 2015 Spring, Reignover helped his team to a 13-5 record, good for 2nd place in the regular season, and then led them to victory in the championship with a 3-2 win over Unicorns of Love. That split would prove to be only the beginning of a dominant run for Reignover, as he then helped FNATIC accomplish a historic perfect season with an 18-0 regular season record and eventual championship in the summer split. Having qualified for Worlds 2015, Reignover and FNATIC had an incredibly strong showing, advancing all the way to the semifinals and earning a 3rd-4th-place finish.

In 2016, Reignover once again shifted regions, moving to NA and joining Immortals. His stellar play would continue, as he helped Immortals to a 17-1 regular season record in spring, as well as earning the spring MVP award, and a 16-2 regular season record in summer. From the summer of 2015 to the end of 2016, Reignover was part of an incredibly dominant run which featured an EU championship, a semifinal run at Worlds 2015, an MVP award, three 1st All-Pro Team selections, and a staggering 51-3 regular season record.

Since making the move to coaching, Reignover has once again found tremendous success, helping Cloud9 Academy claim a league-best 27-9 regular season record along with back-to-back championships in 2020.

Reignover has proven himself as an incredibly capable head coach on our Academy team during the 2020 season by developing the players and bringing home back-to-back titles. With his player-focused approach, he creates an environment where problems are openly discussed, addressed, and improved upon. His recent maturation into an effective head coach in our Academy system combined with his storied player career is more than enough to convince us he will be a great LCS coach. I am excited to see what he will bring to the table this upcoming season.
