Cloud9 is thrilled to announce the signing of Luka “Perkz” Perković as the starting Mid Lane for the LCS team! After a tenure with G2 Esports that was nothing short of legendary, Perkz now makes his first foray into the North American League of Legends circuit. We can’t wait to see his talents on full display in the upcoming season!

Perkz joined G2 in late 2015 and immediately set to work, helping the team gain a promotion to the LEC for the 2016 season. In LEC Spring 2016, Perkz and G2 took the community by surprise on their way to a 15-3 regular season record followed by a dominant playoff run which saw them bring home the championship. It would be a sign of things to come over the next several years, as Perkz and G2 never looked back.

Perkz would go on to help G2 earn eight total LEC championships, including sweeps in 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020. During this time, Perkz also led the team to victory at the Mid-Season Invitational 2019, and he went on to earn the Rookie of the Split award and four 1st All-Pro Team awards in the LEC, and the MVP award at the IEM Season XI – World Championship. On the international stage, Perkz helped G2 qualify for Worlds every year, as well as leading the team to the semifinals in 2018 and 2020, and a stunning 2nd-place finish in 2019.

It’s not every day you get to welcome a player of Perkz’s caliber to your team, so to say we’re excited is an understatement. He has been a dominant force of competitive League of Legends since pretty much his first day of competition and we’re all looking forward to working closely with him.

Jonathan Tran, League of Legends General Manager

Bjergsen retiring from competitive play left the LCS with a massive vacuum that couldn’t be filled by just any player. With the arrival of Perkz, that vacuum is not only filled but we’re also gaining a player who will be the driving force in guiding the LCS to international competitiveness. Perkz is not coming to NA to retire and collect a huge paycheck. He is here to dominate both inside and outside our region.

Jack Etienne, Cloud9 CEO & Co-Founder

With the 2021 season just around the corner, and our roster fully formed, the organization is ready to get back to work in pursuing another LCS title! Welcome to Cloud9, Perkz!
